As we write the most important thing is going to be at the top of the pyramid.
The least important is going to be at the top of the pyramid.
The Lede is going to attempt to answer the questions- Who, what, when, where, why and how.
First paragraph is the Lede, second is the Nut graph, third is always going to be a direct quote, fourth is a factual statement. Next is a direct quote, after that it will always be statement, quote, statement, quote.

"That kid is a great example of what the country is teaching our future, nothing but bad stuff." driver of the Yugo John Jacob Jingleheimer-Smith said.
Factual-
All three people were from Austin, and were driving to enjoy the nice, sunny weather.
John F. Kennedy was shot down November 22nd, 1963 in Dallas,Texas. He was 46 years old, he died younger then any other U.S. President to date. He was shot three times by Lee Harvey Oswald, who was later arrested and then shot by Jack Ruby.
I think this is important because John F. Kennedy was a very favored President who was a very impressive man. He had huge plans for our country, and sadly he was unable to fulfill those dreams.
AIDS was first clinically discovered in the year of 1981 in the United States. It was a huge discovery because many people had become sick with it, but it was first thought of something that only infected homosexuals. Later on they realized that this was false, AIDS can infect all humans and primates.
I think this information is important because AIDS is a scary thing, its very deadly and the symptoms can be painful. It is almost as scary as cancer.

As the article states this sis one of the largest giant squids ever found, what if we ever catch a real one? Then we will look back on this day and remember when we caught this one and compare it to the present.
WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — It was a calm morning in Antarctica's remote Ross Sea, during the season when the sun never sets, when Capt. John Bennett and his crew hauled up a creature with tentacles like fire hoses and eyes like dinner plates from a mile below the surface.
A colossal squid: 770 pounds, as long as a minibus and one of the sea's most elusive species. It had been frozen for eight months until Tuesday, when scientists in New Zealand got a long-anticipated chance to thaw out the animal and inspect it — once they used a forklift to maneuver it into a tank.
The squid is a female, and its eight arms are each well over a meter (3.3 feet) long. Its two tentacles would have been perhaps double that length if they had not been damaged.
Kat Bolstad, a squid scientist from the Auckland University of Technology who was leading a team examining the creature, described it as "very big, very beautiful."
"This is essentially an intact specimen, which is almost an unparalleled opportunity for us to examine," she said. "This is a spectacular opportunity."
Many people around the world agreed: About 142,000 people from 180 countries watched streaming footage of the squid examination on the Internet.
Bennett said there was so much excitement about his previous catch, he thought he had better save the latest one for research.Colossal squid sometimes inhabit the world of fiction and imagination, but have rarely been seen in daylight. Remarkably, Bennett and his crew on the San Aspiring toothfish boat have caught two of them. Their first, hauled in seven years ago, is on display in New Zealand's national museum, Te Papa.
"It was partly alive, it was still hanging onto the fish," Bennett recalls. "Just a big bulk in the water. They're huge, and the mantle's all filled with water. It's quite an awesome sight."
Susan Waugh, a senior curator at Te Papa, said scientists hope to find out more about where the creature fits in the food chain, how much genetic variation there is among different squid types, and basic facts about how the colossal squid lives and dies.
She said scientists plan to further assess the condition of the squid before determining whether to preserve it for public display.
Bolstad said it's possible that ancient sightings of the species gave rise to tales of the kraken, or giant sea-monster squid. She said sperm whales often eat colossal squid and are known to play with their food, and sailors may have mistaken that for epic battles.
"On the other hand, we don't really know what the grog rations were like at that time at sea, either," she said. "So it may be that we've got a bit of a fisherman's story going on there, too." http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2014/09/16/colossal-squid-exam/15715321/
Jogger stabbed in greenbelt area of Southwest Austin
Proximity-
The reason why I chose this article is because it is in our local area, and it should help keep people more aware while exercising.
(KXAN) — Austin Fire Department crews rescued a jogger in a greenbelt area of Southwest Austin early Tuesday morning. Crews got a call around 6:40 a.m. about the water rescue, which reportedly started as a robbery.
Austin police say two men approached the man, asked him for money, and then stabbed him after he said he didn’t have any.
EMS treated the man and pulled him out of the greenbelt. They then transported him to University Medical Center Brackenridge with critical injuries. This happened in the Archstone Greenbelt, just southwest of MoPac and U.S. Highway 290 West, off Staggerbrush Road.
i code this article because I think we should all be on the look out for UT, i wonder how
someone could've gotten away with that much money.
AUSTIN (KXAN) — More than a week after money was reported stolen from the University of Texas concession sales, authorities are still trying to determine who might have been involved.
Approximately $20,000 was reported stolen from Sodexo-operated concessions sales at the Darryl K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium on Aug. 30, when the Longhorns played their season opener. Volunteers from area nonprofits help work the concession stands to raise money for their organization, which is usually around 10 percent of the total sales.
In a statement to KXAN News, Sodexo says the “missing money has not been returned and the matter remains under investigation by the University of Texas Police Department.”
Last week, UTPD said two different nonprofit groups left at the end of the day without submitted their sales. Neither Sodexho or UTPD have released the names of the nonprofit groups.
According to a nonprofit agency that has several concession stands at the DKR Stadium, Sodexo trains volunteers to make cash deposits throughout the game and that every stand has a supervisor that is assigned to them.
The reason why i chose this article is because a lot of people have Toll Tags and i feel they should know the issues with them have been fixed.
AUSTIN (KXAN) – For two months, KXAN has been asking the Texas Department of Transportation for answers about what really caused all the trouble with people paying trying to pay their TxTag toll bills. The new billing and payment system was supposed to be easier, but problems online and over the phone began right after its launch this summer. Frustrated, many of you reached out to us for help, but TxDOT refused to give us an answer…until Wednesday.
“The roll out was a little more challenging than anticipating,” said James Bass, the TxDOT official responsible for overseeing TxTag.
Bass was among other TxDOT leaders who were appearing before the Senate Transportation Committee at the state Capitol. The TxDOT officials were fielding questions about problems with TxTag from Austin senator Kirk Watson, who last week called TxTag a ‘badly broken system.’
“When did TxDOT become aware of the problems with the transition to Xerox?” Watson Asked.
The state contracted with Xerox to the tune of nearly $100 million to operate the toll system, including customer service and the website. The transition was supposed to go smoothly, but it didn’t.
“More customers were not taking advantage of the automated phone system and those that were going to a customer service rep were more than anticipated,” Bass explained.
Some TxTag users told us they called customer service because they couldn’t access their accounts online. TxDOT says 1,200 of their two million customers were locked out because they had not paid their bill and their accounts were not fully set up when the new site launched.
Now, TxDOT claims everything is fixed, and for those who are still having trouble: “Tell us what your issue is, we’ll work with you to address it,” Bass said.
The department says the average wait time to talk to a customer service representative has been less than one minute over the past four weeks.
Meagan Work and Michael Brandt Turner’s court date set
Conflict-
I chose this article because two people are fighting against the court, which makes the situation an example of conflict
AUSTIN (KXAN) — The first court date for Meagan Work and her boyfriend, Michael Brandt Turner, has now been set for Tuesday in connection to the death of 2-year-old Colton Brandt Turner. Work, Colton’s mother, and 29-year-old Michael Brandt Turner, both face a charge of tampering with physical evidence after police found Colton’s body buried in a shallow grave near Felter Lane in Southeast Austin on Friday. Colton was wrapped in a purple blanket, lying beneath a pile of wood and Sheetrock.
Work is being represented by Austin criminal defense attorney Darla Davis, who served as an assistant district attorney in Travis County for 13 years. Meanwhile, Turner — recently transferred to the Travis County Jail from San Saba County — is being represented by defense attorney William White. Both Worker and Turner are being held in the Travis County Jail on $250,000 bond, jail records showed Tuesday.
Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown hopes to honor Colton’s life with funeral services that will be open to the public, who is being called upon to donate to an online fund. According to the fund site, Cook-Walden Davis will cover the costs of the funeral services, and the money raised through donations will help pay for a casket, obituary costs and a grave at Bagdad Cemetery near Leander.
“I didn’t know you, but your smile warms my heart. So sorry you had to go so soon,” said one comment on theGoFundMe.com website, one of the more than 200 donations. The page reached its goal of $10,000 in less than three days.
Sue Anne is a manager at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home and now, as one of the people who got to know Colton during his short life, she will help plan his funeral senrvice. Cook-Walden officials say Colton was not honored in life but will be honored in death. Details, time and place have not yet been determined.
I chose this article because it sort of has an emotional side to it.
MELBOURNE, Australia (NBC/RTV) — An Australian man decided to try and save his 10-year-old goldfish after it developed a tumor around its head. George the goldfish was starting to really suffer from a tumor near his head. His owner said he was quite attached to George.
“The fish was having trouble eating, getting around, getting bullied by the other fish,” said veterinarian Dr. Tristan Rich.
“You know, we love George,” said his owner, Pip Joyce. “He’s been great company, and we’ve had some good laughs out of him.”
So George was sedated in a bucket, and the operation to remove his tumor took 45 minutes.
“And then closing up did prove quite difficult because there wasn’t much skin to work with, so managed to close half of it up with some sutures, just your standard sutures, — really small ones — and then had to seal it off with some tissue glue,” said Rich.
He was returned to the bucket, this time with painkillers.
“He was meant to stay in his own separate bucket for a few days, but he was jumping up and trying to get out of that, yeah, which was a good sign,” said Joyce.
Good old George is expected to live 20 more years.
Novelty- I chose this article because it attracted me, it was weird which made it catch my eye.
WIMBERLEY, Texas (KXAN) — A student bit by a rabid bat at Danforth Junior High School last Friday has school officials reaching out to parents to talk to their children about handling bats.
The student was bitten when he picked up the bat. Tests came back Tuesday indicating that the bat was rabid. Principal Casey Hollomon said there have been two cases of bats being found on campus during daylight hours.
“We made a very specific announcement today at school to all students and staff, and want to not only let you know about the recent situations, but also to ask for your assistance in educating our students,” he writes. He also asked parents to talk to children about leaving wild animals alone when they encounter them.
“We want to make sure our kids are safe, parents can help by reminding them not to be messing with any wild animals,” Wimberley ISD Superintendent Dwain York explained. “We live in an area where there are bats that is why we annually check all our facilities.”
No bat colonies were found on any campus, but it is generally known in Wimberley there is a colony under the Cypress Creek bridge, just off the center of town, about a mile from the junior high.
“My reaction is, it happens,” said Susan Shafer, a mom with two boys enrolled at the school. “It’s no big deal, although I am sorry the child has to go through rabies protocol.”
